HIPAA Security Risk Assessment

The HIPAA Security Rule mandates that all covered entities, including medical practices conduct an accurate and thorough assessment of the potential risks and vulnerabilities regardless of the size, complexity, or structure of the organization.

The assessment is not optional and must be documented, with records retained for at least six years.  Failure to comply can result in significant fines and enforcement actions by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).

AIM's Remote Assistance procedures have been updated. After contacting AIM Support, you may be asked to request a Remote Assistance session by our Support Tech. To do so, please follow these steps -

  1. Click here to download the AIM Support Assistance app
  2. Open the downloaded app
    1. When launched, the app will generate an ID and a one-time password
    2. These credentials identify your device
  3. Share the ID and Password with our Support Tech
  4. Approve the Support Tech's Incomming Connection
    1. You may see a pop-up requesting permission when the Support Tech tries to connect
    2. You must accept the connection
  5. Allow AIM's Support Tech Control
    1. Once connected, our Support Tech can see your screen
    2. You may also be asked to allow "keyboard and mouse control" if needed. Please allow.
  6. Subsquent Remote Assitance Requests
    1. There will now be an AIM Support icon on your desktop.
    2. Going forward, just click the icon when requesting support. Start at Step 2
